Yea!!!
I love these blog hops, and it's time!
It's time for
Papertrey Ink's May blog hop. This month the theme is "yellow".I had to miss last month's, and I'll be honest here. I missed it because I was too chicken to make a project using one of Lauren's templates. However, Lauren {personally} LOL! assured me they are easy to do, so I'm trying one this time, it's the "Let's Do Lunch" template. I still think I'm template challenged, but for my first attempt at one, I kinda like it.
Don't pay any attention to some of the wonky edges. With any luck, it will look better the next time I do it.
I wanted this to have kind of a dreamy, French country feel to it.

All stamp sets are from Papertrey Ink. They are- Polka Dot Basics, Beautiful Blooms, Little Lady, Fancy Flourishes, Background Basics: Text Style.
I background stamped the polka dots in Spring Rain ink on Rustic Cream cardstock.
I have to pause for a moment here and tell you about the Rustic Cream and Rustic white cardstocks. I bought them, not sure if I would like them, 'cause "rustic" really isn't my thing.
I LOVE these cardstocks!!! They are fabulous, and give some textural interest to your cardstock. I love the way the Spring Rain ink turned out on this. If you don't have any of these, trust me, you HAVE to get some.

Here's a little close-up of the decorative area on the box. I stamped one of the flourishes from the Fancy Flourishes set. To get this color, I inked it in Pure Poppy, and then wiped most of it off, leaving just a little trace, and then inked it in Spring Rain. I cut out the flourish, and mounted it on the box with foam squares. The flowers from Beautiful Blooms were stamped in Summer Sunrise, the center of the flower was masked, and then the flowers were stamped again with the Background Basics: Text Style stamp- one in Lemon Tart, and one in Spring Rain. The Lemon Tart ended up being a little TOO subtle to show up in the photo. Those flowers were cut out and mounted on the flourish cutout with foam squares. Musn't forget to mention the happy little ladybug. She's stamped in True Black and Pure Poppy, and then cut out and mounted on the flower petal with foam squares. The leaves are a Martha Stewart punch done in Spring Moss cardstock.
Last, but certainly not least (thanks to my new Bow Easy) is a precious little bow in Spring Rain.

So, let me know what you think; I truly enjoy reading all comments, and thank you for bearing with such a long post.
