Mojo Monday 127

I finally got the chance to participate in another Mojo Monday challenge. They  have such wonderful sketches to work with. So, without further ado:

I like the way this one turned out, and see the purty flower? I finally got around to making one of those poufy things. They really are easy to make. I did this one out of two shades of pink tissue paper, that I stamped with a large polka dot stamp in Hibiscus and Raspberry Fizz inks. Too bad, the poufiness (is that a word?) hides the dots.
What's in this:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink- White, Aqua Mist, Raspberry Fizz
DP: My Mind's Eye- (came out of a photo mat pack called "Pink Photo Mat")
Stamps: Verve- Love's Flower
Ink: Versafine- Onyx Black; Papertrey Ink- Hibiscus, Raspberry Fizz
Markers: Copic
Ribbon: Papertrey Ink- Hibiscus Burst Saddle Stitch
Border Punch: Martha Stewart
AND some Dew Drops
Gotta run, now. I'm so excited- my handsome hubby is coming home after being away for work for 2 WEEKS! I've missed him terribly, and can't wait to see him!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

Yippee! It's Blog Hop time again! You may have guessed by now, but PTI is my FAVORITE place to shop; everything is SO fabulous!
So for this month, since Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 3rd anniversary, we were to pick a project from one (or more) of the Design Team that had given us the most inspiration.
After three long, gut-wrenching days of trying to decide (after all, this is the greatest design team EVER) I finally narrowed it down to one person (sort of) and one project.
DEBBIE OLSON!!! {sigh} I want to be Debbie Olson when I grown up. Her use of Copics is simply breathtaking, and I want to CASE almost every single one of her cards.
Here is my inspiration piece from Debbie:
Isn't this fabulous! Just look at that coloring will you? I love everything about this card. The colors, the sketch, the way she used the focal image stamp as the background as well. It just makes my heart skip a beat.  So it's almost embarrassing to post my project. It does not hold a candle to the original.
Here it is. I also want to give a shout out to the other ladies that were also part of the inspiration for this card. Betsy Veldman, for the most romantic projects, this color scheme was inspired by her AND Dawn McVey for her bold color combos. I know, you're going to ask what bold color combo is used here? Well, Sweet Blush and Ocean Tides put together IS a bold move for me. Also inspiring to me is Niki Estes' fondness for stitching. It's very subtle on this card, but I did stitch.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed my project, and I can't wait to see what everyone else created.
To all the wonderful members of the Design Team, along with the greatest designer ever, Nichole Heady, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for continuing to share your beautiful works of art with us, and for giving inspiration on a daily basis. My husband thanks you for not letting the bank account get any dust on it, too!
Happy Anniversary, Papertrey Ink!

Cute and Cuddly II

So here's the pastel version of my last post. I really love this little bear. Gonna have to force myself to put it down and play with something else.
It doesn't really look like there's much difference in the Sweet Blush and Lavender Moon Bitty Dot papers in the photo, so I guess you're gonna have to take my word for it that they are different colors. Ha!

What's in it:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink- Stamper's Select White
Patterned Paper: Papertrey Ink- Bitty Dots
Stamps: Papertrey Ink- Baby Button Bits
Ink: Papertrey Ink- True Black
Spellbinders: Nestabilities- Classic Oval
Markers: Copic
Buttons: Papertrey Ink- Sweet Blush, Aqua Mist, Lavender Moon
Other: Scor-Pal
That's all for me today, I've really got to get to work on some new projects.

Cute & Cuddly

I've got a new favorite stamp to paper piece. Isn't this just THE sweetest little bear you've ever seen?
Betsy Veldman (you probably know her from the PTI Design Team) has issued a challenge to do some paper piecing. These little guys were just begging for it, in my opinion.
This was a very simple card (that seems to be my style- simple. How about "understated"- that sounds better).
So in my understated style {giggle} I placed strips of Bitty Dot DP on my white card base, and gave the front score lines 1/2" from the top and bottom. Then I placed three embossed Classic Oval Nesties on the strips and topped the ovals with the cutie patootie bears that are paper pieced in the Bitty Dot DP. I also gave the bears a little bit of Copic color on their little tootsies and snouts. Making a baby card kinda makes you baby talk, I think. I stamped the sentiment in True Black and placed the wonderful matchy matchy buttons beside the sentiment. Fun, fun, fun. I'm going to do a pastel version next, I think.
Gotta run. I am totally wiped out today, sinus issues and stuff.

Class Project

So here's the project I did for La Princessa's daycare class for their Valentine Party.
The boxes (original tutorial was for the little travel packs of tissues) were super simple to put together, and only 1 sheet of cardstock was used for each box.

The stamps are Papertrey Ink's Tiny Treats: Valentine. This has become one of my favorite sets. The little images in this set (and there's TONS of them) are so adorable and a lot of fun to color. I cut them out with a Nesties Classic Circle and placed it on top of a Scalloped Circle. Using some of the fabulous Simple Valentine DP, I cut strips with a Nesties Long Scalloped Rectangle. I just noticed that the "to- from" tags aren't very clear in the photos, but they were stamped from the same set onto pieces cut with a Long Classic Rectangle.
Here's the smiling face of La Princessa (terribly blurry pic), who did a FANTASTIC job of helping me fill the boxes.
It doesn't happen like this very often, but I knew this was one of the things I wanted to do with this set the moment I saw it. I started on these the moment I received my order too, otherwise, you know me, they probably wouldn't have been done in time for the party on Friday.
So that's that, supplies used here:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink- White, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy
DP: Papertrey Ink- Simple Valentine
Stamps: Papertrey Ink- Tiny Treats- Valentine
Inks: Versafine- Onyx Black (images were heat embossed); Papertrey Ink- Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy
Spellbinders: Nestabilities- Classic Circle, Scalloped Circle, Long Classic Rectangle, Long Scalloped Rectangle.
Okay, I won't bore you with Valentine projects anymore. {sigh} I'm going to miss that holiday.

Happy Valentine's Day (late)!

Now what would you think if I actually posted something on time. You'd wonder what was wrong with me. {giggle} I've been playing with A Simple Valentine from PTI. That set is more fun that you should be allowed to have with one set {giggle}.
Seriously, this set is a LOT of fun, and versatile. The heart within a heart image and the sentiment are from Heart Prints, all the other stamps are from A Simple Valentine. No DP here, it's ALL stamped.
This card was given to my son (going on 17, and was actually WHINING that he wasn't going to get a card from me- I suppose I should take that as a compliment).
What's in it:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink- Vintage Cream, Kraft, Pure Poppy
Stamps: Papertrey Ink- Heart Prints, A Simple Valentine
Inks: Versamark- Onyx Black; Papertrey Ink- Fresh Snow, Pure Poppy
I hope everyone had a grand Valentine's Day! I'll be back in a bit with a couple of pics of the project for La Princessa's daycare class.

Papertrey Ink "Paint" by Number Challenge

Here's my entry for the "paint" by number challenge at PTI. They're celebrating their 3rd anniversary, and the prizes and challenges have been amazing so far. In addition to the provided sketch (even including the dimensions to cut your pieces), you were given a color palette depending on the first letter of your user name in the forums. My color palette is Kraft, Enchanted Evening, Spring Rain, Aqua Mist, and White. Since the "blues" are my sweet little La Princessa's favorite colors, I decided to make her Valentine's Day card.
I just adore this cupcake image, it's so sweet. I frosted it liberally with some coarse Martha Stewart glitter.
The cupcake image is from Baby Button Bits. Other stamp sets that I used (all PTI) are Polka Dot Basics, and Turning a New Leaf.
That's it for me today. Have to figure out something for dinner, and then get started on another project.
I hope everyone has a glorious evening, and don't forget to check out the festivities on Nichole's blog.
