Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

Ahhh, it's finally time for Papertrey Ink's monthly Blog Hop! This is one of my favorite day's of the month, and I always get SO many ideas for new projects from all the wonderful entries along the way.
This month the challenge was to "use your buttons". Buttons {sigh}. Who doesn't love buttons?
So let's get to the card:

Here's my little guy. I used some buttons, yes? I still think this little teddy bear is the cutest thing EVER, and I can't seem to stop playing with it. I'd been toying with the idea of a button frame for this little guy when the blog hop challenge was posted, so it seemed like a good idea to try it.
Hindsight being what it is, the more I look at the card, the more I wish I had made the ribbon loops a little smaller. Poor little bear looks like he has wings. Tee hee! If you can't laugh at yourself....... don't worry, there are plenty of other people out there to do it for you!
What's in it:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink: Stamper's Select White
Stamps: Papertrey Ink- Baby Button Bits
Ink: Versafine- Onyx Black (teddy was also embossed with clear EP)
Markers: Copic
Buttons: Papertrey Ink (Spring Moss)
Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Spring Moss Polka Dots)
Well, there ya go- nothing elaborate or fancy, but I like the little guy.
Got to go see what everybody else did!

Poppy Seed Challenge

This is the second Poppy Seed Challenge, to use buttons, polka dots and green moss. I didn't get a chance to play along with the first one, and crazy me, I almost missed this one, too. I forgot today was the deadline to post. Thank goodness for email updates to remind me.  :)
So I have just a simple little card, with a simple little stamp, and a simple little sentiment. (at least I'm consistent- Ha Ha!) Oddly enough, the requirements for this challenge are the EXACT same thing I used on my card for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop, that you will see in a little bit.
Here it is; hope you like it:
Here's what's in it:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink- White, Spring Moss
DP: Papertrey Ink- Bitty Dots (Lemon Tart, Spring Moss), Bitty Box (Ripe Avocado)
Stamps: Papertrey Ink- Everyday Button Bits, Mixed Messages (sentiment)
Ink: Papertrey Ink- Dark Chocolate, Spring Rain, Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise
Dies: Spellbinders- Labels One, Scalloped Square, Classic Circle
Buttons: Papertrey Ink- Spring Moss
The first and second layers are popped up with foam tape, and while the top layer was still in the die, I ran around the edges with a micro tip Zig pen to get the black outline. Also while the layer was still in the die, I masked off a small circle to ink the sky area, and then used the negative die cut area to mask off the rest of the layer to ink the sun.
Hope you enjoy- be back in just a few with my entry for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!!!

Our Creative Corner- Think Spring...

... or Easter! That's the challenge this week at Our Creative Corner. I've decided not to do any Easter cards this year (not sure why, just not doing them) but I did do this Spring birthday card that I'd like to share. It uses a sketch from an OCC challenge from a few weeks ago that I just didn't have the time to play along with.
Spring is by far my favorite season. Everything is so fresh, clean and bright as dreary old man winter says goodbye. Gorgeous, vibrant colors pop up everywhere, the birds begin to sing again...{sigh}So I tried to recreate that feeling here. Certainly doesn't do Mother Nature justice, but maybe you'll like it a bit.
What's in it:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink- White, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart
DP: Papertrey Ink- Bitty Dots (Pure Poppy), Bitty Box (Spring Moss)
Stamps: Papertrey Ink- Wishing You, Bird Watching, Background Basics: Tin Types
Ink: Versafine- Onyx Black; Papertrey Ink- Spring Rain, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Pure Poppy, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado
Border Punches: Fiskars, Martha Stewart
...and a bit of Diamond Stickles on the butterfly bodies
That's it for me today, got to get to work on my next project while I have a bit of quiet time.
Don't forget that all important day tomorrow.... the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop! I'm drooling already.
See ya there.

Timeless Tuesday and Flutter By Wednesday Challenges

Hi everybody!
Well, as the title says, today's card is for Flourish's Timeless Tuesday Challenge (the sketch) and the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge, which was to use the color green and/ or shamrocks, and include butterflies, fairies, or angels.
Whaddya think? (Please feel free to click on the photo to enlarge, it's kind of hard to see everything)
I don't often do "vintage", but I'm really glad I did on this one. My favorite part is the way the daffodils stamped on the base of the card turned out; I just loved that.
The daffodils that were cut out were colored with Copics, and then inked to tone down the brightness of the colors. The butterfly was stamped on vellum, cut out, and then I colored the back side of the vellum with Copics.
Ingredients:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink- Vintage Cream, Kraft, Lemon Tart, Spring Moss
Stamps: Flourishes- A Year in Flowers 1; Verve- Beautiful You (sentiment); Papertrey Ink- Butterfly Dreams, Background Basics: Text Style, Background Basics: Tin Types
Ink: Memento- Desert Sand; Papertrey Ink- Chai, Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate
Dies: Spellbinders- Classic Circle, Labels Five
Markers: Copic
Ribbon: Papertrey Ink- Vintage Cream grograin
I've got to run now; I'm on my lunch break, and just needed to get this posted while I had a couple of quiet minutes.

I'm Ba-aaa-ck!

Hey everybody, long time no see! Feels like forever since I've posted anything; I've been in kind of a "funk" or something for a while. But anywho....
I'd like to share a card with you that uses the sketch for the current The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Blog challenge, and features the colors for the current OCC challenge, which are pink, yellow, green and brown. I used Kraft for the brown, that counts, right?

So, I think this turned out to be a happy little card, and not to toot my own horn, but I'm pleased with it.
Ingredients:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink- Lemon Tart, Kraft, Raspberry Fizz, New Leaf, Stampers Select White
DP: Papertrey Ink- Bitty Box (Lemon Tart)
Stamps: Papertrey Ink- Baby Button Bits, Butterfly Dreams, Polka Dot Basics
Ink: Versafine- Onyx Black; Versamark; Papertrey Ink- Fresh Snow, Hibiscus Burst
Markers: Copic
Dies: Spellbinders- Classic Circle, Classic Rectangle
Border Punch: Fiskars
Flower Punch: Marvy Uchida
Ribbon: Papertrey Ink- Lemon Tart Swiss Dot
Buttons: Papertrey Ink- Lemon Tart, Orange Zest
Well, that's it for me today. I think I'm going to go to bed early; been dealing with a couple of sick kids all week, and hopefully we're all going back to work and school tomorrow (I really, really hope so- I could do with some peace and quiet- no moaning or whimpering or sounds of retching would be nice).
Don't forget, I'm a comment junkie, so if you have time, leave some love.
